St. Johns County Introduces New Principal Frederick Wapington III

After the yearbook lyric controversy, the district turns to a polished new administrator with strong 2015 leadership experience.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, FL — Just days after the district’s yearbook controversy involving a Fetty Wap lyric sent local Facebook groups into cardiac arrest, St. Johns County officials have reportedly introduced a new principal: Frederick Wapington III.

Wapington, described by insiders as “professional, composed, and deeply familiar with the cultural landscape of 2015,” arrived on campus Monday morning carrying a clipboard and what witnesses described as “extreme assistant principal energy.”

Parents say the new administrator immediately made an impression after confidently greeting students, adjusting traffic cones in the pickup line, and referring to negative comments as “fans though.”

District officials praised Wapington’s leadership style, citing his experience in morale, hallway visibility, and “maintaining positive vibes during transitional periods.”

“He understands today’s youth,” one totally real district source said. “And by today’s youth, we mean people who were in middle school when Trap Queen came out.”

The hiring follows backlash surrounding a quote that appeared in a local school yearbook which many residents identified as lyrics connected to rapper Fetty Wap. The controversy quickly escalated into what experts are now calling “the most intense regional reaction to a 2015 reference in recorded Florida history.”

While district officials have not confirmed whether Wapington was personally involved in selecting future yearbook quotes, they did acknowledge that staff meetings have become “noticeably more energetic.”

At press time, parents were reportedly divided on the hire, with some calling it inappropriate while others admitted they still remember every word to Trap Queen against their will.
