Roar Rally

Roar Rally

For local spots that need more than likes.

When a St. Augustine restaurant, coffee shop, bakery, or small business hits a rough stretch, we send one simple alert. Locals show up. Real money goes through the door. No donations. No middleman. Just a town doing what towns are supposed to do.

Get Roar Rally alerts with:

  • the business story
  • what's going on
  • where to go
  • what to order
  • directions, website, menu, and review links

One alert when a local spot needs a strong week. No spam.

What it is

Local attention, turned into real foot traffic.

Roar Rally isn't a donation platform. It isn't a GoFundMe. It isn't charity. It's a local support alert system — an email list locals join so that when a beloved St. Augustine spot could use a strong week, the Lion can give them one.

Some Rallies tell the full story. Others just say, "this place could use a strong week — go." Either way, the goal is the same: locals through the door, spending a few bucks directly with the business. The business keeps 100% of every dollar.

  • Not a donation. Not a tip jar.
  • Not a fundraiser. Not a charity.
  • Just locals showing up.

Who it's for

Who Roar Rally Is For

Roar Rally is built for local businesses that depend on real people walking through the door.

Restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, food trucks, bars, shops, markets, studios, salons, and other local places where a stronger week of foot traffic can make a real difference.

If more locals showing up, buying something, booking something, sharing something, or leaving an honest review would help, that's the kind of place Roar Rally was made for.

This is mostly for the businesses that make St. Augustine feel alive at street level.

The places with counters, tables, racks, registers, handwritten signs, regulars, slow Tuesdays, busy Saturdays, and an owner somewhere in the back trying to make the math stop biting.

Shorter version:

Roar Rally is for local businesses that depend on foot traffic: restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, food trucks, bars, shops, studios, salons, markets, and other places where locals showing up this week can actually move the needle.

How it works

Four steps. No drama.

  1. Step 01

A spot reaches out — or gets nominated.

A business owner emails us, or a local writes in about a spot that needs a hand. We listen first, judge nothing.

  2. Step 02

    We learn what's going on.

Slow season, road work, rising costs, staffing, one brutal month, or just needing more people through the door. We figure out what they're comfortable sharing publicly.

  3. Step 03

    We send the Rally.

An email goes out with their story (or just a quiet nudge), address, directions, menu, website, and a Google review link. One tap to find them. One tap to plan a visit.

  4. Step 04

    Locals show up.

Buy a coffee. Order lunch. Grab a gift card. Bring a friend. Leave an honest Google review if they earned it. That's the whole play.

Why it works

Most local businesses do not need a miracle.

They need:

  • a stronger lunch rush
  • more locals remembering they exist
  • a few more gift cards sold
  • a few more honest Google reviews
  • a few more people walking through the door this week

Why it matters

These places are ours.

Local business owners don't always get everything right. Service has off days. Menus change. Prices go up. Hours get weird. They're human. They're trying.

But these spots employ our neighbors, sponsor our kids' teams, create the memories, and give St. Augustine its character. Without them, the town becomes a strip of chains, souvenir shops, and "remember when that used to be here?" stories.

Supporting local isn't liking a Facebook post. It's showing up. A $3 coffee, a lunch order, a gift card, a shared post, or an honest Google review after a visit — that's the stuff that actually moves the needle when enough locals do it together.

What helping looks like

Small things. Done together. By enough of us.

  • Buy a coffee, lunch, or dessert
  • Grab a gift card for later
  • Bring a friend through the door
  • Share the spot with a few people
  • Leave an honest Google review if earned
  • Recommend them when someone asks

Roar online. Rally in real life.

Rally Perks

Sometimes there's a perk. Sometimes there isn't.

Some businesses may offer a small Roar Rally perk to make showing up even easier — a discount, a free add-on, a gift card bonus, a limited-time menu item, or a simple "mention Roar Rally" special.

But perks are optional. The real point isn't to train locals to wait for coupons — it's to help good local spots get a strong week when they need it.

If there's a perk, we'll include it in the Roar Rally email. If there isn't, the mission is still the same: show up, spend a few bucks, and leave an honest review if they earned it.

"Sometimes there'll be a Rally Perk. Sometimes there won't. Either way, the mission is the same: show up for local spots before they become another 'remember when that was there?' story."

Valid this week · one per customer · dine-in or pickup.

Sample — actual rallies vary in detail and tone. Some rallies skip the perk entirely: "Rally Perk: no discount this week — just show up and support them directly."

For business owners

Need a strong week? Tell the Lion.

No judgement here. Slow season, road work, rising costs, staffing issues, one brutal month, or just needing more people through the door — email us. We'll treat your message privately.

Nothing gets shared publicly without your permission.

Roar Rally is best for local businesses that depend on foot traffic, walk-ins, appointments, or in-person purchases. If a wave of locals showing up this week would help, tell us what's going on.

No surprise posts. No publishing your numbers. No public pity parade. We'll work with you on what can be shared, what stays private, and the best way to send locals your way.

Roar Rally is free for local businesses. Local Lion benefits by growing the newsletter, strengthening trust, and proving we can turn attention into action.

Optional Rally Perk

Would you like to offer Roar Rally supporters anything special? A small discount, free add-on, gift card bonus, limited-time menu item, or a simple "mention Roar Rally" special.

Totally optional. We don't want businesses cutting margins if a discount doesn't make sense. The mission is to send locals through the door — a perk is a bonus, not a requirement.

Private. No public posting. No newsletter blast. Just the Lion's inbox.
